It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...French Paper!

These groovy promotional pieces were handed out at the 2011 HOW Conference last weekend. We have quantities heading our way. Never fear, French Paper enthusiasts! We will have them in a couple weeks if you didn't make the conference in Chicago.

Imagination takes flight with the French Paper "Air Kraft"! It's built of solid Speckletone/Muscletone, 140 Cover in Kraft — this is an ideal sheet for structure, folding and packaging. The "Air Kraft" is die-cut and features two color letterpress printing by Studio on Fire.

Part two of the set is a colorful accordion fold Pop-Art novella, "Dispelling the Rumor Mill", which illustrates the rumors vs. the facts surrounding French Paper Company. Fact: This piece was printed on Pop-Tone 100 lb. cover in Pink Lemonade with an coordinating envelope in Orange Fizz. Read it to learn the truth behind the hearsay! Both pieces were created by the one and only CSA Design Company.

Destination: Domtar’s Ashdown Mill!

On Wednesday, June 8th, a group of select mill trip first-timers and veterans joined us on our pilgrimage to Domtar's Ashdown Mill located just outside of Texarkana, Texas.

Each attendee left Ashdown with first hand knowledge of the complex inner-workings of an uncoated paper mill and the complete paper production process - from the initial tree to final packaged product. We took in  the jaw-dropping 90 degree suspension of eighteen wheelers for woodchip depository, to the transformation of tiny pulp fragments into thousand pound paper rolls—the experience was absolutely mind-blowing!

Of course our mill experience wouldn’t be complete without the perks. The group enjoyed golfing, fishing, chef prepared meals, souvenirs and remarkable peer camaraderie. We were so fortunate to have an extraordinary group of creative talent and paper enthusiasts along for the ride! Thank you to everyone. Each of you made this trip truly unforgettable.
